The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, received the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al Thani for a farewell visit, and thanked him for his long-term efforts to improve the relations and cooperation between the two countries.

President Vučić congratulated Ambassador Al Thani and his associates on Eid al-Adha, and wished the people of Qatar peace and prosperity.

Ambassador Al Thani thanked for the support he had from the Serbian authorities during his diplomatic mandate and emphasized that his successor will continue to nurture relations between Serbia and Qatar.

President Vučić thanked the Emir of Qatar for the generous shipment of medical equipment, sent to the people of Serbia last year, at the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, which he sent as his expression of friendship.

It was stated at the meeting that there are good experiences in economic cooperation between the two countries, but that it is still modest, with many untapped opportunities, and hope was expressed that the improvement of the epidemiological situation will help more frequent contacts between business people.

President Vučić wished Ambassador Al Thani good health and much success in his private and professional life.
