Chargé d'affaires Slobodan Radeka attended the solemn liturgy and celebration of the feast of Saint Isaac the Syriac, in the Orthodox Church of Saint Isaac and George in Doha, upon the invitation of the Archbishop of Qatar, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios. The ceremony was attended by a  number of Serbian citizens in Qatar.
The Church of Saint Isaac and George gathers a significant number of members of the Serbian diaspora in Katar, who participate in various Church activities.

The Embassy maintains a close and active relationship with the Church, which is especially the case with the archbishop of Qatar, Mr. Makarios, who is very sympathetic to Serbia and the Serbian community in Doha, and studied at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Belgrade.
