In a written interview for Inside Qatar, Chargé d'affaires Slobodan Radeka acknowledged the authorities, citizens and residents of the State of Qatar for the efforts made in preparing FIFA 2022 Qorld Cup in Qatar, which will be the first in the history of the Arab world and the Middle East. He assessed that the stadiums represent a masterpiece of architecture, which connect modern trends and rich Arab tradition and culture.

He emphasized that expectations from the performance of the Serbian national football team are never low and that this is one of the most compact teams that Serbia has ever had. Radeka informed that about 2 thousand visitors from Serbia are expected and that the Embassy is preparing to provide them with all the necessary consular protection. He also stated that a special reception will be organized at the Embassy on October 25, at which the Serbian diaspora in Qatar will be invited to support the performance and cheer heartily for our national team at the stadiums.

It was especially emphasized that the arrival of the President of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the World Cup, at the invitation of the Emir, His Highness sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, which is another confirmation that Serbia recognized Qatar's efforts to organize such an event, but and the importance that the Republic of Serbia attaches to bilateral relations with the State of Qatar.
